Generation X: A Brief Photo Essay

Generation X, the middle generation (hence the X) born between Baby Boomers and Millennials, teetered on the fence between the analog and digital eras. Growing up mostly without internet and social media, this generation can still remember the days when cassette mix tapes, boom boxes and the Walkman were the height of tech!

So, if you were born between 1965-1980, welcome! I think you’ll enjoy this quick trip down memory lane.

Btw, I unearthed all these 80s-90s treasures from my mom’s catch-all bodega. I’m excited to show my kiddos what their parents considered gadgets and what “teasing your hair” really means.

When eco-friendly packaging was in the distant future. CDs were sold in packaging that was half empty and twice the size of the product. Kids, make the world a better place and don't repeat the mistakes we did. Save the planet!
